~~Welcome~~This thread is going to be following any side stories that I and ForlornMelodies(AKA lovely little sister, Mari) come up with revolving around *Points to title* Anyways, since I'm sure no one reads these, meaning I can say anything I want and no one will know it(My real name is _____), I'll get straight to the plot. ~~~~~1st Story PlotThe first story revolves around Team Eternity attacking a city that Virginia and her group had been staying in. While the other's in the group managed to get away, after getting injured by a Team Eternity Grunt, Virginia had to stay within the city and hide, but not too long after, was found by a group of Eternity Grunts. This story will be written with only Virginia and Nanashi in mind as far as I'm sure, so no one else will be involved ~~~~~Nanashi had always hated fires, for as long as he could remember. They brought about nothing but complete and utter destruction, something that he felt he was too used to. It had been hours since the attack Pueltown had begun, and the town was in bad shape from what Team Eternity had done to it so far. As of the current moment, the town was more in ruins than not, and on fire too, in most places. Nanashi whistled blandly to himself as he walked along, his gunblade across his back as he flipped a small radio in the air, watching grunts every now and then run my. Although Nanashi had seemed to be as he always was, uncaring of the situation around him, deep down, having know which group had been in the town before he had arrived, he was hoping that they had made it out, "...Especially her..." He muttered to himself, the image of a pink haired girl flashing through his mind before his radio suddenly buzzed to life, "Admin Nanashi! We've found one." came the almost excited, and obviously proud voice of a grunt from the radio. Nanashi felt a small frown tug at his lips as he caught the radio in his hand, pressing down the button, "Physical description." He commanded. He didn't have to wait long before the radio buzzed again, "A girl, somewhat older teens, maybe young twenties. Pink hair." came the response of the grunt. Nanashi's fist immediately met with a brick wall upon hearing the news, but he paid no attention the pain that traveled up his arm as he did so, "Alright. I'll be there in just a minute. Don't let her go anywhere, keep your guns raised, and don't get near her." He responded, warning the grunt before he took off running down the street, his boots tapping quietly and quickly, 'Damn! It just had to be her...' He growled to himself as he, fueled by a fire deep down in himself.

Virginia's frightened eyes searched the crowd of grunts that surrounded her, all pointing guns directly at her. She knew the situation was hopeless, but there had to be some way out of this. Refusing to show Team Eternity that she was defeated, Virginia stood with her arms crossed, her defiant gaze scorching over the grunts. A stabbing pain ached in the back of her mind. How could he have done this to her? She thought... she had thought that they were becoming friends. No, she corrected herself, He had tricked you, Virginia. Don't think like that! He's been meaning to do this to you the whole time. Thank Arceus Arashi and Francine made it out... Don't tell them anything, Virginia. Stay strong. She sighed, waiting for the moment when Nanashi Kazuo, Team Eternity Admin, would arrive.

Nanashi sighed as he rounded what he knew was his final corner, and returning to a slow walk, he took a deep breath, composing himself as he walked forward towards a large group of Grunts that were stood in a semi-circle to a garage where he guessed they had found Virginia. As Nanashi approached, he cleared his throat, gaining the attention of most of the Grunt's, when they saw him, they made way for him to walk past, and as he did, he raised his hand, "At ease. She won't be going anywhere." He told them. All Grunts lowered their weapons, and as they did, Nanashi finally made it to the front of the rows, and stopped feet away from Virginia, the Communicator he was supposed to kill. He looked at her for almost an entire minute, before he nodded, "Virginia...It's nice to see you again." He greeted, rather blandly.

Virginia tried to smile calmly, as if this was normal, but her hands were shaking and one could detect a slight trace of fear in her voice as she spoke, "Nanashi... I can't say it's nice to see you again, but it is rather nice to know that you've been working with the organization that's been trying to kill me. Try to let me know earlier next time." Fidgeting slightly, she glanced at the grunts, then at Nanashi. "Can you hurry up with killing me, please?" she asked, an annoyed tone in her voice.

Nanashi frowned, crossing his arms over his chest, though his face showed what could have almost been a slight sadness, "Well. Naturally, I'd have to interrogate you first, then take you to be...quite frankly, dissected." He said, not looking away from the girl, "We only kill those who pose a threat...we capture if absolutely possible." He said blankly, his emotions kept under control in his tone.

Was that sadness Virginia saw on Nanashi's face? Virginia shook her head, as if trying to clear it. She didn't want to know. "Oh, that sounds so much better." Virginia said, with a sarcastic edge to her words. "Aren't you at least going to ask me for my weapon or something? And, you consider me as not being a threat when I could blast you with water anytime?" It was clear that Virginia had pretty much given up on ever escaping, but she wasn't planning on going down without a fight.

Nanashi sighed, shaking his head, and snapped his forefinger and thumb together. As he did so, all Grunt's raised their guns, pointing at Virginia and he opened his eyes again to look at her, as if trying to prove his point, "I understand that you're a threat. But you aren't a threat to me in this situation. A bullet will rip apart water, given that there are plenty of them." He said, controlling his tone before he gave the girl an almost pleading look, not allowing anyone else to see it though, "Just come along quietly, and we won't have to continue...this." He said firmly, making it sound as though he wasn't giving any other choices.

"I..." Virginia began, but she couldn't ignore the look in Nanashi's eyes, sorrowful and guilty. She had never imagined a Team Eternity Admin looking at her like that, as if saying "I don't want to kill you..." Taking a deep breath, Virginia nodded. "I-I'll come with you, then. But, I'm warning you. You can interrogate me all you like, but I honestly don't know anything about where the other Communicators are or about where the other members of my group might have gone." she warned. Tossing her hair back as a last act of defiance, she asked, "Where are you taking me?"

Nanashi felt a sort of relief course through him and he nodded before speaking again, "I'll be taking you back to a set up base of operations just on the edge of town." Nanashi said before he scanned the Grunts around him, "The rest of you fan out and search for the other's. She won't be pulling any fast ones on me." Nanashi commanded, to which they followed quickly, taking off in all directions until only he and Virginia were left in the area. Nanashi watched as every Grunt disappeared before he looked back to Virginia, his emotions still controlled as he held up a pair of handcuffs, "I'm trading you, these in exchange for your sword." He told her, unwavering as he tossed the cuffs in her direction.

Virginia glanced up at Nanashi with curious eyes before nodding. "I'm trusting you here, but I hope you realize that I can use my powers without my hands." she murmured, unsheathing her sword and dropping it at her feet. Grabbing the handcuffs, she met Nanashi's eyes. "Could you tell me whether you want me dead or not? One moment you're telling your grunts to point weapons at me and the next moment, you're giving me pleading looks. Who are you, really?" she asked, "And why are you even working for Team Eternity? You don't seem like the type of person who would do something like that... Nanashi."

Nanashi frowned as he listened to Virginia's questions. He walked forward towards the girl, and stopped in front of her to pick up her weapon with minimal effort, before he began walking away, expecting her to follow as he slung her weapon across his shoulder, "I'm just a puppet in a world full of puppet masters." He told her as Luca flashed through his mind, "Waiting for someone to finally cut my strings so that I can just die..." He said darkly, before he suddenly smiled backwards at the girl, "As for why I'm a part of Team Eternity...well, that's something I often times ask myself. Maybe it's because they helped me a long time ago when I had nowhere to turn to." He said in an honest tone before he looked forward again, "And I don't really want to kill you..." He said, trailing off even though he sounded as if there was more he wanted to say.

Virginia handcuffed herself, pushing her hands behind her back, as she stared up at Nanashi with a mixture of curiosity and annoyance. "Let me get this straight. So you want to die and you don't want to kill me. If you're one of the good... no, if you're not one of the bad guys, why would you want to die? And if you don't want me dead, why don't you let me go right now?" she asked, trudging behind the older man. "And why do you keep speaking in riddles?"

Nanashi frowned as he continued to walk ahead, Grunt's running by every now and then, though they only glanced at him and Virginia, as the came to the edge of the burning city, Nanashi finally spoke up again, turning around and stopping to look at the girl, "If I were to just let you go, you wouldn't make it too far before you were killed, either by the Grunts, or my own forced hand..." He said before he walked behind the girl, setting his hand on her shoulder and pushing her forward, making it look as though he was forcing her to walk, "And I want to die...because I've killed so many in my life...it's something that will get to any man sooner or later, and I can't handle it anymore..." He said lowly, pushing the girl further from the town, before her handcuffs suddenly clicked and fell to the ground, any Grunt's that were running by not noticing since Nanashi held the girl's wrists together, "Noe what you're going to do is kick my leg out and grab your sword. When you do, slash me across the chest and just run, before anyone notices..." He said lowly, and in an almost sad tone, "Try to find your friends and get that injury fixed up too..." He suggested, before slowly easing his grip on her wrists, waiting for her to move.

Virginia was stunned into silence for a few moments, before she glanced back at Nanashi, twisting her head. "Wh-why?" she asked, "You don't deserve to die, Nanashi." She was shocked by her own boldness as she stared up at her captor. "No. First of all, I'm not killing you, because, as you said, killing innocents is morally wrong, especially for a Communicator who was chosen for her pureness of Soul. Secondly, I honestly don't believe you deserve to die. Finally, I honestly don't want to kill you." Virginia said this all in a soft voice, hoping the grunts that were rushing by wouldn't hear. Her violet-colored eyes glittered with the reflection of the flames that had engulfed the city. "I... I don't know why, but... I really don't want you to die, Nanashi." she managed to choke out.

Nanashi frowned, feeling the girl's opportunity slowly slipping away, though he was slightly stunned by what she had said, "I..." He sighed, taking a deep breath, "You don't have to kill me, just wound me. If you don't...if you don't, you're going to most likely die here, and it won't be quick, you'll be taken apart piece by piece...you don't deserve that..." He said lowly, trying not to push down the guilt and shame that was rising in his chest, "I'm just a human, Virginia, but you, and your group, are far beyond me and what I can do, which is why you shouldn't have to die here..." He told her, before he slid her sword from his shoulder down into her palm, watching carefully for any Grunt's, "Now hurry, please! Before someone gets suspicious...I can't leave, I have to stay here..." He said unhappily.

"I don't want to hurt you, Nanashi. I don't want to leave, knowing that the grunts might find out and do something bad to you. Can't you please come with me? I'd rather stay and die... knowing that you'll be okay, than leave you here to face some unknown fate while I'm away laughing with my friends." Virginia whispered. "Please, Nanashi. I can't leave you behind." Her cheeks turned a light shade of pink. "No, I... I mean, I can't leave anyone behind." She knew this would probably be her only chance of escaping, but the thought of hurting Nanashi, or even just abandoning him, was unbearable. "Please."

Nanashi frowned as he looked into the girl's pleading eyes, and his worry suddenly expanded, "I-...I don't understand why you'd care about someone like me. My job is to hunt you, you and your friends. I don't understand how you could just look past that fact..." He muttered, before he heard someone talking not far away. Nanashi quickly grabbed Virginia's arm and ducked behind a tree, pulling the girl close to hide himself and her, while whoever had come passed by. After they had left, he took a shaky breath, before standing up again, his face slightly flushed as he looked down at the girl, "I'm sorry..." He said, unsure of what to do at this point.

Virginia blushed fiercely when Nanashi pulled her in close, but she quickly regained her composure. "Why wouldn't I care about someone like you? It might be your job to hunt us Communicators down, but I can tell that you don't enjoy it, do you? See? What you just did shows that you aren't like the other Team Eternity grunts!" she protested, "You... you have to come with me! I'll be assured that you're safe and you won't have to hurt me! If... if you don't come, I'll... I'll..." Virginia hesitated, clutching her sword tightly. "If you don't come with me, I'll kill myself. I'll be dead and part of your mission will be accomplished, right?" The girl was close to crying with frustration. She was scared for Nanashi. She didn't want him to die for her.

Nanashi frowned, this was a situation that he had ever come across in his life, one he wasn't used to. When he heard Virginia's comment about ending her own life though, he felt something wash over him, and realized he was scared for her. He moved forward, setting his hands on the girl's shoulders and pushed her back againast the tree, staring her in the eyes, as if he were looking for something, "...Why? Why did it have to be you..." He growled out before he moved forward, hugging the girl tightly, "...Can you run with your injury?" Nanashi asked, not letting the girl go so she wouldn't see his face.

Virginia was pushed back against the tree, crying out in surprise. At the reminder about her injury, the flaring pain in Virginia's right leg started up again. The pain mingled with fear that rose in Virginia's throat as Nanashi stared into her eyes. "Wha-" she began. Her sword clattered to the ground as Nanashi hugged her. Evidently surprised at the older man's actions, Virginia's eyes widened as she reached out to hug Nanashi back. Her voice was soft as she replied, "I... I can try... to run..."
