Serena watched in horror as the girl disappeared in front of her eyes. "Wait...!" Those few seconds she was gone, Serena frantically looked around. When Alex finally appeared again, Serena jumped. "T-Th-That scared me!" She playfully pushed Alex. "Your powers are so cool..."

Alex smiled. "Sorry! I'm used to scaring my brother like that!" she murmured, laughing. "Well, your powers are really great, too! They'll help us a lot in fights, while my powers can only be used to scare my enemies." Alex hadn't felt this happy in a long time.

"I-It's okay." Her heart was still beating rapidly. She scooted closer to the girl once again. "Alex is so nice to me. I want to stay with her forever." Serena gave Alex a smile. "Do you know what the older boy's powers are?" She was curious to see how powerful they were.

Alex shrugged. "I forgot to ask them. Leo's the Victini Communicator, so his powers will probably be related to fire, psychic, and energy. Since Aidan's the Entei Communicator, he'll probably have powers that are related to fire, rocks, earth, and speed. I don't know, though." she murmured, gently wrapping her arm around the younger girl's shoulders.

Serena gave an excited gasp. "That sounds so cool!" She was startled when Alex set her arm around Serena. She leaned into Alex and awkwardly put her head on Alex's shoulder. "You guys are so strong..." Serena looked up at the older girl. "I will get really strong so I will protect Alex!" Serena's face turned a bright pink. "And the older boys too..." She clenched her hands. "I don't want anyone to get hurt." She gave Alex a smile.

Alex grinned. She didn't want anyone to get hurt either, but Serena's enthusiasm and excitement were contagious. "Yes, we're rather strong, but you're really powerful, too! You can protect us by healing us when we get hurt!" she exclaimed. She was so excited that she was finally travelling with a healer. It had been hard when she and Luke had been alone without anyone who had any knowledge of medicine and herbs whatsoever.

Serena couldn't help but get a big smile. She put her hands together. "Yes! I want to be helpful to Alex!" She looked at the older girl. "Alex will tell me what to do and everyone will be safe!" A determined look appeared on Serena's face. "Then we will be happy together!" Serena quickly covered her mouth and a small blush appeared. She didn't mean for that last part to come out.

Alex laughed. "I hope we will!" she murmured. Hopefully, they would be happier than the last time Alex had thought she was truly happy. Slowly, the older girl got to her feet. "Okay, then, Serena... Um, I guess I'll go now..." she muttered. She didn't really want to leave, but she didn't want Serena to feel uncomforable, either.

"Wait..." Serena's arm's flew up and grabbed Alex's arm. "Wait!" Her voice full of panic. "D-D-Don't leave me!" She got to her feet and stood next to Alex. "If Alex is leaving, I will go too." She looked at her feet. "I can't be strong without Alex..." She continued holding Alex's arm with both of Serena's hands.

Alex was caught by surprise when Serena grabbed her arm. "Huh? Oh, you want me to stay? I thought you felt uncomfortable! That's okay, then, I can stay!" she said with a huge smile. Gently, Alex removed Serena's hands from her arm. "Alright, then, so what do you want to talk about?" she asked, waiting patiently.

She looked up at the older girl with confusion. "Uncomfortable..?" She had a small smile. "I could never be uncomfortable with Alex! Alex is my best frie..." When she was speaking the second sentence, she grew quieter until she was completely inaudible. She decided to play it off like she didn't say it. "Talk... I... I don't know what people talk about..."

Alex pulled the younger girl into her arms. Sometimes, when she was with Serena, she didn't feel like she was with a thirteen-year-old, but rather, that she was with a girl that was much, much younger... a little sister. "Oh, you're so adorable, aren't you, Serena? Well, most people just talk about whatever is on their minds. What's on your mind, Serena?"

Serena felt a little embarrassed when she called her adorable. "My mind says that Alex is my older sister and I will stay with Alex forever." She thought a little harder. "It also says that I am worried about the future. It scares me to be a Communicator. But everything will be okay, because I'm with Alex" Being in the older girl's arms felt relaxing. She let out a yawn and snuggled closer to Alex. "What is Alex's mind thinking?"

Alex laughed, pulling the younger girl even closer to her heart. "That's right. Everything will be alright..." she murmured. Hearing Serena's question, Alex sighed. "Well, I'm thinking about my little sister, Serena, but I'm also worried that I won't be able to protect you and Aidan and Darai and Leo... I don't want anyone to get hurt because of me. I'm also worried about my brother, Luke. I don't really know how he is right now."

"Alex said that older brothers protect their younger sisters... And I will never let anything hurt Alex. Ever. Nobody will hurt my Alex." She poked Alex's cheek. "Don't be sad..." Serena took a few seconds to think. She shifted slightly to get comfortable. Alex can talk to her brother like this, right? Serena became confused. "Why didn't Alex and her brother go in the same group? I could never be separated from Alex." She hugged Alex tightly.

Alex gently ruffled Serena's hair. Well, yes, I can talk to Luke like this, but it feels weird to talk to him like this. Besides, I don't want to disrupt his life with his group. "We didn't go in the same group, because we've been together for fourteen years and we thought it would be cool to try something different for once." she explained, her thoughts straying to her brother. How was he now? Had he managed to get that girl he liked to fall for him?

Serena looked up at the girl's face. "Does Alex miss her brother?" She set her head back on Alex. "I think... I think Alex should talk to her brother. I think her brother misses Alex too." Serena snuggled closer. "I want Alex to be happy. Wouldn't Alex be happier if she knew her brother was alright?"

"Well, yeah, I do miss Luke and I am worried about him, but he'll be fine... I don't think I should talk to him. Last I saw him, he was falling head over heels for a girl. I wouldn't want to disrupt his life..." Alex murmured. Gently, she patted Serena's back. Being with Serena was strangely comforting in its own way. Alex smiled softly to herself, as she flicked a stray piece of hair out of her eyes.

Serena's face showed extreme confusion. "Head over heels?" She imagined a boy falling over in front of another girl. Serena didn't understand the phrase. She didn't even know what Luke looked like. "That doesn't make sense... Why would he trip in front of a girl? Wouldn't you go see if he was okay?" The more she thought about it, the less she understood.
