Ari"s expression was neutral as she listened to Day speak, but concern quickly filled her mind when Day mentioned how cold it was. With a glance at the boy's flimsy jacket, she sighed, muttering, "You shouldn't be worried about me. You must be cold, too, in that jacket. D-do you want to walk with me?" Ari hated herself for raising her voice hopefully at the end of the question. It hadn't been a conscious thing, but it had just happened. Not that she wanted to walk with Day... or did she? What are you thinking, Ari?

Stopping once more, Day stared ahead of himself for a moment before he sighed. Turning around to look at the girl once more, Day muttered something under his breath and made a small circle in the air with his finger, a small red line appearing where he had traced his finger through the air. Taking his finger away from the line, he set his hand underneath the small red circle before he threw it down at Ari's feet. The circle hit the ground and instantly formed a red circle in the ground around the other teen, causing the air around her to suddenly warm by quite a bit. Just as quickly as he had turned to look at the girl, he turned once more and started walking off again, the ring slowly disappearing as he walked away again without a backwards glance.

OOC: Minor curse for anyone that's reading this. And, btw, I just realized the Legend references in this, Nexus... "Wha'?" Ari barely managed to mumble when she saw Day turn and begin to stride away. Without thinking about what she was doing, she dashed forward, blocking Day's path. "Who the hell are you? Someone of the lowest ranking shouldn't know what you know. You should be in the highest ranking..." she mumbled, her eyes meeting Day's as a dangerous glint appeared within them. Her eyes seemed to narrow slightly before they softened as she looked over Day. "You... don't really know who you are, do you?" she asked, her voice wavering slightly as she spoke. Her gaze went from Day's face to the ground instantly as she said the words, as if she was ashamed to look at Day. I won't stop him if he tries to leave again. If he wants to leave so badly, I'm not going to try to stop him.

Looking down at Ari, Day remained silent as the other teen spoke while he remained passive for the most part, a blank look on his face. When she finished, Day stood silent, not making a sound as he stared at Ari, noticing how the girl now refused to look at him once more. He blinked a few times blankly after a moment, seeming to snap out of a thought before he set his hands in his pockets, "...My name is Day...other than that, all I know is that I'm an amnesia patient and have no recollection of my magical ability nor my past...What I do know is that many restrictions and barriers were placed on my flow of magic and that I am a potential threat to anyone that knows me." He said, though his voice remained monotone the entire time that he spoke as he stared at the girl, a passive look still on his face, waiting for the girl's reaction and expecting her to take off in fear.

Ari had always been considered stubborn, but up until then, she hadn't ever realized how stubborn exactly she really was. The girl set her jaw, looking back up at Day's expressionless features as she took a deep breath, barely hesitating before she opened her mouth. "Well, until you start hating my company or I get bored of hanging around you, you're just going to have to be not a potential threat to me. To be honest, you interest me; not like an experiment or anything like that... if you know who I am, you'd know that I leave all the experimenting to my sister. You interest me as a person. You're a puzzle, you know... and since you don't seem to care about what happened before from your lost memory, I'm going to start hanging around you and figuring it out. Don't try to stop me..." she mumbled, trailing off as if she had just realized that her reaction wasn't really the correct one.

Staring down at the other teen, Day's mouth slowly formed a small frown, "..." He simply stared back, and though he looked as if he wanted to make a retort, to tell Ari she was being stupid, ignorant, annoying, but he made no sound, only stared at her. Day stood for almost an entire minute, silent, before he looked up again past Ari, and he walked around her once more. But this time, the second he stepped past the girl, he disappeared, a large gust of wind sending a flurry of snowflakes around where he had been before they dispersed, leaving Ari alone in the park once more.

Ari said nothing as the other teen left, though she did turn her head to look at him as he disappeared. Dropping to her knees in the snow, Ari traced a large glyph into the freezing-cold snow with her mittened hand and vanished... only to appear again in the small room that she had been living in ever since arriving at the school. She quickly stripped off her wet clothing and pulled on a new outfit. As she did this, she quickly realized one thing: she would figure out the mystery surrounding this Day... no matter what. ~Three weeks later~ One of the few things Ari loved about the Hikari School was its beautiful library. In the past three weeks, she hadn't seen Day at all, so she had just spent most of her time in the library, brushing up on some old spells and learning some new ones. She hadn't bothered to go looking for Day. If he didn't want her to find him, she probably never would and she wasn't going to waste her time. As Ari slipped the old, red book back into its place, she groaned softly. There was something about the school that she didn't know...

Day yawned, managing to stifle the sound for the most part as he sat at a small table by himself in the middle of the library, a laptop sitting in front of it. On the screen was a news article that was written just days ago according to the date atop the paper. Day himself for the most part, didn't seem too interested in the article, and as he stared at it, he tapped one of his fingers against the table in an agitated manner. His mind began to wander as he sat, now that he was back on campus again, after yet another time that he had spent off campus, he had remembered the girl who had told him the last time she had run into him that she wished to figure out about him, and while he wasn't particularly looking forward to having to deal with the girl, he did have to admit to himself that she did...interest him a bit.

As Ari selected a new book with a blue cover, she strode towards one of the library's small tables, her steps quick and purposeful until she froze, her eyes widening as she recognized Day. She resumed walking once more, though she had turned slightly so that her steps were taking her towards the other teen. She smiled at the boy when she reached his table. "Do you mind if I sit with you?" she asked charmingly, putting on her most winning smile. I hope I'm not bothering him too much...

Day didn't have to look away from the computer to recognize Ari's voice when she spoke to him. Sitting silent for a moment more, Day stopped tapping his finger against the table to gesture to the seat in front of him, "Go ahead." He said quietly, before he took his hand back to the laptop in front of him, closing the tab on the screen and closing the screen before moving it over to the side and then looking up at Ari, though he didn't say anything as he looked at her.

Ari dropped her book onto the table and silently sat down, "Well, how have you been?" she mumbled shyly, not exactly knowing what to say. She tried to act casual, but she could feel her cheeks redden slightly. It wasn't everyday that Ari tried to start a discussion with a boy... or with anyone for that matter. The girl tried to smile at Day, but it didn't really feel right, so she just leaned back, waiting for the other teen to answer her question.

"Busy..." Day responded, watching Ari as she moved to sit in front of him. He could tell just by watching the teen in front of him that she was easily out of her element in her attempt to socialize with Day, though he had to tell himself that he didn't care the second the idea popped into his mind. Sitting silently for a moment, Day sat staring at the girl before he sighed, "Y'know, I wasn't sure until now whether or not you were actually serious about what you said last time." He said, glancing off to the side, "You really shouldn't waste your time on me. Why don't you find something better to do with your time like join a club. The school could really use someone with your ability, especially in competition." He said, closing his eye's again as he tipped his head back.

"A club?" Ari asked, her eyes narrowing slightly, "All the clubs I've seen so far are quite boring, to tell the truth. Perhaps I'll join one after I figure you out. Besides, if you're trying to get rid of me, it's not working. Why are you so antisocial anyways? Don't you have any friends or anything? Or do you only act this way around me?" The girl silently folded her arms over her chest, making it clear that she was waiting for an answer from the other teen.

Sighing as he listened to Ari speak, Day looked at the girl again through one eye, his head tilted to the side in a bored manner, "Only you." He said simply, before he a faint smile touched his lips, "And yes, I do have friends. Plenty of them." He said, "And if the clubs seem boring, then I'm not sure what you consider fun." He said, shrugging his shoulders. Sitting forward, Day set his elbow on the table and then rested his chin in the palm of his hand, his hair falling to the side of him as he looked at Ari with a suddenly interested look in his eye, "The battle teams; kendo, magic, hand to hand, capture the flag. The more intelligent based teams; magic logarithm, magic history..." He trailed off, trying to elicit some sort of reaction from the girl in front of him.

A small smirk appeared on Ari's face. "If you have so many friends, why is it that you're always alone whenever I see you?" she asked. When he started talking about the clubs again, Ari rolled her eyes as she asked, "I consider solving interesting mysteries fun... and don't tell me there's a detective club... Wait, which clubs are you in? I can join those."

Day's smile remained as he tilted his head slightly, "I said plenty of friends, not 'so many'." He corrected, "As for the...extracurricular activities I'm a part of. I'm a part of the student council here at school, and while that takes up a majority of my time, I've also been...dragged into some battles that our school partakes in during competitions with other schools." He said, not at all in a boastful matter as he glanced off to the side, having ignored the girl's last comment.

Ari sighed. "Maybe I'll join the student coun-" Her words were cut off as a girl with brown-streaked hair and almond-shaped eyes walked into the library, followed by two boys, one who was tall and skinny, with spiky brown hair, and another who was slightly shorter and slightly chubbier, though he had a bit of muscle as well.
"Ari! There you are! We've been looking for you for almost an hour now!" the girl exclaimed. Ari turned, her face lighting up in a smile when she recognized her friend.
"Sorry, Carolyn! I didn't mean to make you guys look for me." Ari apologized. She was about to say more, but the shorter boy interrupted her.
"Ari, do you mind introducing us?" he asked. Ari looked faintly embarrassed and she nodded quickly.
"Day, these are my friends, Carolyn Kim, Anthony Li, and Samuel Smith, Sam for short. Carolyn, Anthony, Sam, this is Day Wing." she said quickly, pointing first to the girl, then the taller boy, and finally the skinnier boy as she introduced them to Day.
"Nice to meet you, Day!" Carolyn and Anthony chorused, though Sam did nothing but glare at Day stonily.
"Let's go, Ari." Sam said stiffly and Ari stood, turning to leave with her friends.

Day kept silent as Ari was approached by other students, though he offered a small smile as he was introduced to each of them in turn, though he also kept quiet as ever. Noticing but ignoring the hint of repent in one of the boy's voices, as Ari stood to leave, Day didn't bother with a goodbye as he seemed to immediately detach from the conversation as he opened his laptop once more to read what was on the screen. ~Two weeks into the future~Day yawned as he walked along a small path in the school's garden, headed for no place in particular. It was a nice day, sunny though cold, and without a breeze. It was early in the afternoon, and many students that had finished with their morning classes were also getting out to enjoy the weather. Day was ignoring them for the most part, though he did offer the occasional small smile to the occasional student, given they stared for too long. Finally noticing the tree he often sat under just off the path he was on, Day stepped onto the grass and started making his way up to the tree, a small bag under his arm.

"No! Marc should've totally-" Carolyn was exclaiming as Ari shook her head.
"No, no, no! Marc could've done anything and he wouldn't have won. Sara's move at the beginning of the duel made it certain that Marc would lose!" Ari replied, interrupting her friend as the two walked along, discussing the morning's classes. The students had been dueling each other and both girls enjoyed debating how outcomes could've been different if a single move had been change.
"Ugh, whatever. You always win anyways, Ari, so I don't see why I still bother debating with you." Carolyn replied, rolling her eyes. Suddenly, the girl giggled. "Ari! Your boyfriend's over there!" Carolyn exclaimed.
"According to you, I have eighty boyfriends, Carolyn." Ari mumbled, looking up and noticing Day. "Oh, Day? He's a friend, Carolyn. A friend."
"Whatever you say, Ari. Hey, I'm going to go talk with Anthony. See you later!" Carolyn announced with a wink, gently pushing Ari towards Day. With that, Ari's friend turned and disappeared back in the direction of the school.
"Uh..." Ari began. Shrugging, she walked over towards Day. "Um, hi?"

Day silently sighed when he heard Ari's voice, finding it to be too familiar at this point. About ready to just ignore the girl or tell her to leave, Day instead heard another voice in the back of his mind, 'Just be kind to the girl. It's obvious that's she's trying at least, which most people can't say without being proud of themselves. Give her a chance, and hey, try to care! She's got a pretty good rank, it'll look good for you if you're with a girl with smarts, talents, and the position.'
Cursing the other all too familiar voice that belonged to someone Day hoped no one would ever have to deal with, he opened his eye's and glanced up at Ari, a semi-interested look on his face, "...Morning." He finally said, before lowering his head to look ahead at the other students again, "I hope you don't mind, but I'm not really in the mood to be interrogated right now. I know that you said you wouldn't leave me along until you 'figured me out', he said in a static voice. "But I'd like to try and spend today peacefully..." He said, knowing that he probably sounded rude but not really caring as he glanced off to the side, 'I know you want me to give her a chance, but I have no intention in being her puzzle to solve and then throw away...' He thought, bitterly.
