Vengeance - Axel's recent past

Ian rid the smirk off his face after thinking back, & focused. He went up to the door & knocked it.

"Phillip Yutaya!" he called. "I know you're in there! In the name of Team Eternity, open this door!"



"Where is that boy?" Phillip grumbled. "He's late."

"Don't fret, honey," Rachael, his wife, replied. "Axel will be home soon."

*knock-knock-knock-knock*

Both Phillip & Rachael turned to the door.

"Phillip Yutaya!" a voice called. "I know you're in there! In the name of Team Eternity, open this door!"

"Team Eternity..." Phillip growled, standing in front of the door. The Dark Stone in his jacket pocket sparked a little. Please let Axel be okay...



"Okay, see you tomorrow!" Axel cheered, walking out of his friend's house. He looked at the time. I'm late! he thought. Dad's gonna flip if I don't get home soon! With that, he ran out of the town into the route.



Ian turned to two members of his squad. "All right, he's not going to open it. On the count of three, I want you to kick down the door. One, two, THREE!" As one, the two members kicked down the door, revealing Phillip & Rachael. Ian waltzed into the room. "Well well well," he sneered. "We've finally got you."

"What do you want?" Phillip growled.

"What do we want? We want you, & your family, dead. You're a suspected Communicator, & my superiors won't let you live." Ian pulled out his black machete, as the others took out their weapons. "Kill them."

In a matter of seconds, Rachael lied dead near the couch, & Phillip was mortally wounded, lying against the wall. One of Ian's squad was electrocuted by Phillip. Another member returned from searching the house.

"Sir, there is no sign of the child," he stated. Ian shook his head.

"The child does not matter anymore. We have neutralised our target. We will return to headquarters." Just before they left, a bright light shone from Phillip's chest, & a black spherical stone radiating electricity flew out from him out of the house at a high speed. Ian smirked, opening the communications to headquarters.

"This is Retakon," he stated. "Mission was successful. Phillip Yutaya has been neutralised. The Dark Stone has left him. We're returning to headquarters." From there, Ian & the squad left the residence. Phillip coughed up blood.

"Ugh..." he coughed. "Axel..."



Axel ran into the town just as 5 men walked out. One carried a bloody machete. Who are they? he thought, before brushing it off & running back to his house. What he saw there was horrifying.



The front door was kicked down, & the walls were splattered with blood. As Axel walked in, he saw his mother, lying in front of the couch in a pool of blood. "Mom...?" Axel asked. He looked left. Against the wall was his father. "Dad...?" No... he thought, tears in his eyes.

*cough* *cough*

Axel turned to the sound, & saw his father was coughing up blood. "Dad!" he cried, rushing to his side. Phillip looked at his son with a pained smile.

"Axel..." he said. "I'm sorry..."

"No, Dad, don't go!"

"Axel, listen to me very carefully. Remember what I will say to you." He coughed up more blood, as his life was draining away from him. "Team Eternity... they did this... you must... stop them..."

"Team Eternity?" Axel asked, surprised, before giving his father a nod.

"In the cellar... there is a chest... take what you find in it. It is my last gift to you, my son."

"But... why?" he asked. "Why did Team Eternity come here?" His father smiled, & with a heave, he died in his son's arms.
